Me n my GirlyBoi have been pretty busy around Pair – O – Dykes Ranch lately. Working hard to get the Stained Glass and Custom Tile studio all set up. It’s pretty cool, actually. I think it just rocks to have a partner that I can work and play with and still enjoy. Maybe because we’ve been spending so much time together, this song keeps running through my head; A Bicycle Built for Two”.
Some of you youngun’s might not remember it- truth be told it was before my time, but I do have fond memories of my teenage years and even my twenty-somethings at Venice Beach and Catalina Island or even on camping trips at Salton Sea or Big Bear Lake, pedaling around with a sweetie or even a best gal-pal on a tandem beach cruiser.
I started wondering if they still made them or if I’d have to find an old one and fix it up for us so I did a lil googling and found some pretty great prices and lots of beach cruisers (both single and tandem) at Makai Bikes. I think it would be great exercise for (me) us and some fun times, too. I used to love to ride my bike here in the desert just at sunset, when the bats come out and a special hush seems to fall. The desert winds that usually start blowing around four in the afternoon often slow to a light breeze or stop altogether just at dusk.
I’m really coveting this gorgeous burgundy 7 speed Tandem. It’s on sale, too!
Of course, the GirlyBoi had to be contrary and says she prefers the black tandem beach bike.
Hahahaha! I know, I said it’s been fun working and playing together, but that’s definitely not to say that we always agree. Hmmmm…. I’ll get the burgundy. Thornie has her ways….
Peace, out!
Just continues to blow me away. I came on tonight to wrote a bit of fun n foolishness, but you’ll have to excuse me. I have found a topic near and dear to my heart- my health and my food allergies. You have to check out this YouTube. And if you’re like me, (I know I am allergic to wheat and corn thanks to my improved health when I did the Atkin’s Diet) and you think you might have food allergies, you might want to spend some time chasing down the related vids, like Imma do right now.
Peace, out!
Wow, is it Friday already? This week just about flew by and all my good intentions flew away with it, I think! Actually it’s been a good week with beautiful weather and I even got a bit done.
I got new shoes. They are SO freakin’ cute!! And on top of that they have real soles so I can wear them to work in the garden (my thongs just don’t cut it when I’m trying to shovel or kick out tumbleweeds, and I hate putting my boots on when it’s warm out! I’m a bare foot kinda gal in summer.)
I met new friends, like SpadoMan at Round Circle and Peggy at Utah Savage, and reconnected with an old friend via twitter! Jessica the Rock Chick has moved to self hosting at Life is Rantastic! Another blogger assimilated into the wordpress-borg-mind! If you haven’t dropped in on these fabulous bloggers, do so. If you have; isn’t it time to stop in and say “Hi”? Tell um Thornie sentcha!
My good friend Dale is coming to build a Sweat Lodge this weekend, so Saturday night I’m looking forward to Ceremony; to sweating and praying with my ancestors, to honoring the Grandmothers and Grandfathers and to be reminded of songs that I haven’t sung in too long. I am looking forward to offering prayers for the healing of Mother Earth, my loved ones, friends and all people as well as for myself. I think SpadoMan’s magick brought this Ceremony back into my life. (I thank you, my friend), I feel so blessed in these small and big ways.
The GirlyBoi came home from Reno Monday with this little gem and I’ve been saving it all week to share with you all for this Only the Good Friday. It’s just a bit of feel – good fun. I hope you enjoy it and find only good today.
Be sure to stop by at Shelly’s place for a list of folks infected with and spreading this OtGF optimism virus!
"Whoooo are you?", The caterpillar asked Alice.
"Why, I'm not quite sure at the moment, Sir. You see, I knew who I was when I got up this morning, but I must have changed a thousand times since then."
Before you buy a companion parrot please understand that only 10% of your bird is pretty. The other 90% is noisy, messy, moody, jealous and downright painful at times. Before you spend big bucks on that 10% pretty, make sure you understand the 90% you get for free!!
