Lanner Falcon Tattoo Progress
| March 9, 2009 | 7:16 pm

Owieowieowieowieeeeeee…..

I had the greatest weekend working around this place. The weather was gorgeous, my GirlyBoi helped me outside cleaning up and making our parking area wide enough for 2 cars.  I planted my tomato seeds (I’ll tell you all the varieties and take pics as soon as they germinate.)  That’s the good news.  The bad news is I waaaay overdid it.  My back is so fucked up today.  I’ve been in bed all day.  I’m about to drop from the meds I finally broke down and took, but I wanted to post the tattoo update I promised you all.

Dayum.  Can’t sleep even with pain meds.  Oh well.  Found an online image editor.  Here’s the Lanner falcon photo:

We didn’t get an awful lot of work done.  She was about 3 hours late and we need to work areas away from where we last worked.  She is having some hyper-sensitivity issues, I think due to her fibromyalgia.  I’m liking the depth and color blends.  Silly maybe, but I really like her (the falcon’s) talons.

Peace!

What’s good in Thorne’s World today?

Well, what isn’t? Haha! Really, a positive outlook can change the way we view things, can’t it?

Things have been busy in Thornesworld this week, but definitely good!  The GirlyBoi worked all week which is good for our budget, as I told you my sister-in-law came home and Sullen didn’t.  Both very good!

I have been working a lot over at my new blog, The Eclectic Witch and twisting my poor brain around how to monetize that blog, learning about Search Engine Optimizing and long tailed keywords. If there’s one thing I love, it’s learning stuff! I admit, it gets harder the older I get, but I’m doing it and that’s good!

I have met an awesome new blogging buddy, chameleondreams, who blogs at both Coffee Break Today and Everyday Tarot, and who has decided to join us for Only the Good Friday and my old buddy Betmo at Life’s Journey has caught the bug, too! Good and good!

I have more pics of my work in progress on the Lanner Falcon Tattoo, and I’ll be posting them in a minute, and I got a lot of work done on my new Ancestor Altar, which does my heart good!

I got to share some laughs and bitches on the phone and an online meditation with one of my wonderful blogfriends who has become a wonderful lifefriend, none other than our dear Shelly, who started this awesome OtGF meme!

So yeah… it’s been a good week and the weekend is looking good too!

Dayum, Thorni… think ya got a lil link-happy?  What the phuck- it’s all good!

That’s OtGF in Thornesworld for today!

Peace, Out!
*5/01/09 Update:
I’m no longer blogging at today [dot] com. I discovered that I hadn’t read the terms well enough (or they exercised their option to change the terms, I’m not sure), and that by writing there I was giving them my content and the copyright. For next to nothing. Sooo not cool!

Gratitude and Good

Look, it’s working already!  Our virus of good is spreading.  Hop on over to Life’s Journey and check out Betmo’s good post on Our lovely Prez and good ol’ Lincoln!  Good stuff, Betmo!  Yay, you! Welcome to OtGF!

What’s good in Thorne’s World today?  Well, what isn’t?  Haha!  Really, a positive outlook can change the way we view things, can’t it?

Check this out:

I still haven’t swept my floor.  Remember that pic I shared with you of the dust kitties?  They have turned into dust coyotes!  How, is that good?  Well, if I add a lil gratitude to the mix I come up with a whole lot of good.

1) I have a floor to sweep.  It’s inside a home that provides reasonable shelter and comfort.

2) I have a broom to sweep it with (and a vacuum if I choose to haul it out).

3) My life is full of critter love- ie: the 4 dogs, 3 cats and 6 birds who make the messy floor.

4) I am physically able to sweep the floor.  I can walk, hold things in my 2 good hands and move well enough to sweep the floor.  These days, not being in a FMS flareup, I can even bend over to pick up the sweepings.

Those are all good things, right?

Check this out:

My mortgage is late.

1) Last month’s mortgage finally got paid, so I’m not 2 months behind, just a little late on this month.

2) I have a mortgage on a home that provided reasonable shelter and comfort.  In other words, I’m not living in a cardboard box, pushing a shopping cart around.  I’m also not living in a place someone else owns and paying monthly money that pays their bills instead of my own.

That’s good!

One more:

I’m too broke to buy seeds for my garden.

1) I have leftover seeds from years past.  They might not all sprout, but since they are heirloom and organic seeds, as opposed to genetically modified seeds or hybrids, many of them probably will.

2) I have a neighbor who shares my love of good, organic gardening who is bringing me some tomato seeds, since he has more than he needs.

3) My seed shortage has inspired me to get serious about seeking and participating in a seed share or seed swap.

Again, all good!  In Thornesworld today, the key word for GOOD is GRATITUDE.  I’m turning things around.  I’m taking a look at things that could be negatives from a different angle, a different perspective; and finding the good; the gratitude.

From a Different Perspective

From a Different Perspective

That’s OtGF in Thornesworld for today!

Peace, Out!

So Shelly‘s idea for this positive posting meme is:

We are living in some pretty negative times, aren’t we? You can’t pick up a newspaper or turn on the television without hearing more bad news about the economy, the war, the stock market, the political candidates. I think that many of us are living in a state of fear (though I’m in the state of Texas).

Fear feeds upon itself
. It’s like a contagious virus. I’m tired of adding to it. I want to start another kind of “virus.”

You see, I think that optimism can be contagious, too. If we consciously try to look at the good in the world around us, it will become easier to see.
