Ya’ll rember the Share A Square Project, right? A bunch of happy hookers and knasty knitters with big hearts and busy hands making 6″ Squares, and sending them all to Shelly, who then makes up kits of 48 squares each made by a different person, to be edged in black and joined together to create a lovely, snuggly, warm afghan for a kid at Camp Sanguinity Cancer Camp. When a child receives an afghan, they will know that 48 different people care. There’s a ton of info about the project over at Shelly’s, but here’s a lil nutshell (copied unashamedly from her blog, just like the pic above. Also, the numbers might not be accurate. I don’t know if she’s had time to update the numbers since she got home. She’s got a cold, too, so stop by and give her a lil blogger style chicken soup! )
6720 SQUARES NEEDED! 5098 Squares down 1622 Squares TO GO!
30 afghans are finished and at my house.
35 are being worked on
12 more people want an afghans
________
77 afghans so far!!
That’s just over half, peoples.
If you are grateful, today… why not share it; spread it around a lil.
Go by This Eclectic Life. Leave her a comment. Link to her. Favorite her on technorati, bookmark her in google reader or delicious or whatever social bookmarking site you use. Crochet or knit a dozen squares or offer to edge some or put an afghan together. Send her (paypal or snail mail) a few bucks for postage, or a few skeins of black Red Heart or Carron Simply Soft yarn.

Okay, all you happy hookers and knasty knitters!!! The share a square project (I first posted about this June 2nd, and then did a TT of 6″ crochet square patterns on June 28) is rollin’ right along, but Shelly needs all the help she can get! The pic above is of the first 6 I sent, and I just got another “witch’s dozen” in the mail to Shelly. (I forgot to take a pic before I packed them)
Any of you who can, please send some squares asap! She is trying to make each afghan with squares all contributed by different people. She also needs forlks to put the squares together into the afghans. Stop by and check out some of the beauties already finished. If you can’t crochet or knit, maybe there is some other way you can help. I’m sure the cost of postage is kicking her butt; not to mention the black yarn that is used to join them all together. Maybe a Michaels, or Walmart gift card?? I’m sure she’d appreciate a couple dollars to help out. You can also help out with a little linky love to the project, or even a comment to show your support!
Go on….

you know you wanna click it!!!
If you really need a reason to get on this project, stop by and visit
A Young Warrior aka: “Mr T”. He is the first and only person to get an afghan before July. Check him out. He’s battling leukenmia and loving his afghan.
