Steering your course…
In the Chariot we continue forth on the Fool’s journey. As the Charioteer we navigate the road before us with a deft and subtle hand. When the chariot shows up in a reading it’s a good bet that you’re on your course and maintaining a balance between the pull of the two energies represented by the black and white horses (or in some decks by black and white pillars to either side). In the chariot we feel the emotional pull of our higher nature as well as that of our left handed – sister and it is through our self knowledge that we balance the two; using each to its advantage and allowing neither too much power- either through desire or fear.
The Chariot’s keywords are discipline and Will.
What will you choose?

That’s the question the Lovers asks you. I suppose in it’s most obvious interpretation it is indeed a pair- a couple- the juxtaposition of the male and female principle (regardless of gender, of course). When the Lovers appear it’s time to ask yourself a very simple (!) question:
“What do I want? What do I need to be complete, whole, fulfilled? What is it that I cannot (or wouldn’t want) to live without?”
Okay, so the question is simple; it’s the answering that is difficult. The Lovers is one of those majors the interpretation of which is terribly dependent upon where it lies in your reading. Is it love? Are you with your perfect life mate?
Or are you perhaps faced with some temptation; a choice?
Whether in love or anywhere else in your life the question is… “Is this the one? Is this ‘IT’? Is this what makes my heart sing, is this what transports me to my inner home- the place I long to dwell? Or is it a diversion- a bump in the road?”
Trust your self. Trust your gut- your heart; your instincts. And know that with your choice will come sacrifice. That’s what The Lovers is saying.
