Witch Bitch?

“Feminism is a socialist, anti-family, political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians.”

~Pat Robertson

Hmmmm… Witches and bitches and lesbians, oh my!! Why is it, do you think, that the patriarchy, that so many men and even women cling to that sort of thinking? Why are they so afraid? How did a witch become a hag and the Horned One a devil? Is Hilary Clinton really the Anti-Christ?

Religion. Power. Money. Control. Fear.

Haunting, isn’t it?

Above is a closeup of a collaged wall sculpure I made a couple years ago. It’s covered with images that represent the feminine in many guises. I don’t think it requires much explanation, but the placement of the hag was no accident!

“There is no art in turning a goddess into a witch, a virgin into a whore, but the opposite operation, to give dignity to what has been scorned, to make the degraded disireable, that calls for art or for character.”

~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Peace, out!

PS… You might be the Anti – Pioneer Woman if… you hang art like this on your livingroom walls!

Tools of the Trade

A few of them, anyway…magickal tools

I’m a pretty practical witch. I really believe that one doesn’t need any special tools to make magick. It’s really all about Will. Focus. Desire. Nonetheless, I am a gal who loves her tools. There is just about nothing that makes me happier when I have a job to do than having the correct tool for the job. Need to cut tile? I love my wet saw. Just try to do a brake job without calipers and a brake tool. Or to paint trim without those awesome little edging brushes.

So of course I do love my magickal tools! And I love their beauty. This image is just a sampling of a few that I though looked particularly appealing together. A pretty tarot deck, my multi purpose cauldron and sage wand, [below] (although I don’t cook in my cauldron! My magickal cooking happens in my stainless steel, copper bottom, Revere Ware!) The black mirror and crystal ball are for scrying, and the pendulum and Goddess Amulets are for divination. The kris (the wavy edged knife with the black handle) is my athame and is used primarily for directing energy as opposed to actually cutting or chopping, while the antler handled blade is my bolyn, which is used for harvesting and chopping herbs, carving candles, inscribing and the like.

What are your favorite tools?

Normal People…

normal people scare me

Scare me.

Bwahahahahaaa! Oh, it’s true. I mean really; what is normal anyway? How many standard deviations do you fall from the “norm”- the median?? Thornie wants to know!

Have you ever had a paranormal experience? Do you see things, smell things, feel things that others around you are oblivious to? (Or at least claim to be unaware of?) Do you talk to spirits or hear voices? Do you believe in ghosts, in magick? In an afterlife? Do you follow your intuition, play your hunches? Do you have any number of alphabet soup diagnoses? ADD, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, DID…. ? Are you Bi-Polar, clinically depressed or a Borderline personality? Are you schyzotypal, neurotic or psychotic? And if you do… if you are… do these things define you? Who are you?
