For Robin’s Summer Stock Sunday I offer this volunteer blown in on a wild wind. I haven’t yet looked it up to see if I can identify it, but it’s the first one I’ve seen around here. Looks like a somewhat upright desert dandelion, with its stickery leaves doesn’t it? I took the photo for identification purposes, but I’m rather pleased with the shadow play.
Peace, out!

Hey cool, this is for Summer Stock – I clicked over when I saw your tweet, how fun. I’ll put it on the linkie for you :).
As for what it is, no idea, but I like the play of the light as well.
Great shot,
the bloom is so lovely and little :)
if it multiplies, you could make dandy lion wine or braised dandy lion greens :) nice shot.
That is another pretty thing to find in Thorne’s World – I agree the shadow is mysterious! I like the symmetry of the leaves!
Thorne, you are so good at this artsy farsty photo stuff! You can take pictures of weeds and somehow they are captivating!! LOL The shadowing is great! I think I need to spend a little more time with my camera ;)
Sweet little flowering weed .. .
I love a survivor and an interloper and this sweetie is both
the shadows are wonderful
Gorgeous shot – my volunteers are never that pretty! I just get lots and lots of crabgrass.
