I love this paddle cactus. It’s at the Senior Center in our little town. I really need to snag a piece to grow out here on the ranch. Did you know that according to tradition (an “old wives tale”, perhaps?), cactus grows best if you “steal” it? Isn’t that odd? I usually ask if I can “steal” a piece. I wonder if that defeats the purpose of stealing? Haha. Oh, well.
Peace, out!
This is a photo for Summer Stock Sunday. Stop by Robin’s and check out some summer fun!

How cool looking, I’ve never seen purple cactus before. Thanks for sharing.
Now that is a plant that can survive in my garden – doesn’t need watering :)
I had no idea there was an eggplant colored cactus. It’s gorgeous and you must steal some. And really steal it now. Don’t go acting all mamby pamby about stealing a bit of cactus. Now if you were stealing the whole damn plant I might try to stop you, but a bit? Just steal it!
I want purple cactus too!!
I need to go on a robbery spree

What? Cacti come in colors other than green or the ever popular brown after being killed by the Bumbles?
My mom always steals clippings of plants from the side of the road, random spots along the way – wherever. I don’t see how it’s stealing when you are spreading the joy.
I have never seen a red one like this before, great capture.
Wow-I had no idea cactus could be purple! That’s gorgeous! It’s not really “stealing” if you’re going to replant it and spread it’s beauty elsewhere, is it? Somehow I think I could justify that in my mind! LOL
I just love those desert plants and mountains. Someday I’m going to move somewhere where they have those!!!
Never seen purple cactus before, Thorne! Thanks for sharing your desert! :)
