This week for Tarot Tuesday, I’ve departed a bit from my usual procedure. Rather than either feeling out which of my own decks to draw from, or scouring the web for an image that spoke to me of the card I wanted to show you, I decided to head over to Facade.
Facade is a pretty neat interactive tarot site. Now you know in Thorne’s World I like to tell it like it is, so Imma just say it straight out: Magick is about Will. Since I will the random turn of the cards at that (or any) interactive site to tell me what I wish, they do. It’s that freakin’ simple.
I like that one may choose to allow the Universe (or the Gods, as you will) to have as much additional input as you like by having the site choose the deck and the layout for you, or, if you are a bit more controlling you may choose your deck and layout yourself. I usually allow the random generator to choose at least the deck for me, but I often choose the layout, since I generally care only for one to three card readings.
When I wandered over there tonight, the Voodoo deck was one of the three featured decks and I was immediately drawn to the very primal imagery, so I chose it for my one card reading. The card pictured above is what came up.
She is Erzulie La Flambeau and represents the traditional Seven of Wands.
I like her!!
First of all, she is just straight out sexy, isn’t she? That slinky short dress and those thick thighs and bubble butt! Love it! And that mask that looks like the longest eyelashes you ever saw? Hmmm? Sex-ee! And tough? The way she’s wielding those two daggers kinda gives ya the feeling that she means business, eh? The image has a movement to it, too. She looks about to stomp that raised foot down in a lethal dance. So this is what I got from her: from the image, before reading the site interpretation. A powerful woman showing her strength, fearlessness and readiness to take care of business.
And here’s the reading from Facade:
Standing courageously for your beliefs in the face of adversity. Fear of failure overcome by the will to succeed. Great obstacles met with heroism and determination. Inner strength brought to bear at a critical moment.
This card is relevant in my life on so many levels right now. From my writing and blogging goals, to my new determination to take care of my mother (I’m going to sign on as her hired caregiver) as well as my goals with my art work and making this place into a spiritual retreat. I have pretty much been kicking ass and taking names lately and seem to have a nearly limitless well of faith, belief and determination with which to meet the challenges I’m currently facing. This card is so right on. (And yes, Purpose and Creativity are still in play! )
*So check this out!! Hahaha! I did a quick search on Erzulie and found some great info about Erzulie, Voodoo Love Goddess here. Why am I not surprised in the least that she seems to be the Voodoo equivalent of my lovely patroness Kali Ma? I also came upon a painting there by Sandra M. Stanton. Will you look at those Macaws!! She’s a freakin’ parrot Goddess! I think I’m in love!!!

That’s it for my Tarot on this beautiful Tuesday morning.
Peace, out!
