… TOMORROW!
A law protecting all of our citizens against senseless hate violence is long overdue. Two years ago, radical right-wing groups and George W. Bush’s veto threat blocked the Matthew Shepard Act, which would outlaw hate crimes based on both sexual orientation and gender identity. But now the bill is back.
Tell Congress we need the Matthew Shepard Act to help ensure safety and security for ALL people.
Please go to the Human Rights Campaign Action Center and make your voice heard against hate crimes!
The Pagan Sphinx has clear and simple instructions for you to call your congress person. It seems that the hate mongers are up to no good as usual,
flooding Congress with calls, emails and sickening “fact sheets” claiming that sexual orientation means criminal acts like bestiality and necrophilia, and that this bill protects those behaviors.
So please help to combat them by calling your rep!!!
(This makes me crazy. It’s so stupid in the first place to claim that sexual orientation is bestiality and necrophilia, but even if it were, fer chrissakes, would that make it okay to beat a necrophiliac to death? Sheesh!)
Peace, out!

I’m glad to say that all my reps support the bill and my senators are among its sponsors BUT the work still needs to be done
I called my reps to thank them for supporting and to urge them to work on those who stand in the bill’s way
I also e-mailed friends in states where the bill has the most opposition.
Hugs sweet gardening girl :)

that’s really aggravating when people say ignorant things like that. because most of the pedophiles and sexual predators out there on the streets and behind bars are HeTeRoSeXuAl.
the logic makes no sense.

I called my rep to thank him for voting for it and I’ll call my Senators to make sure they know the fight isn’t over til Obama signs it
The HRC has a new e-mail to fwd so I sent it on first thing this morn.
That is really low-down of those bastards! I think it’s all about their twisted minds.

Their accusations, I meant. I think it’s great about the house vote, of course! And things are moving along in Maine, too. Hopefully NH and NY one of these days. Yup. :)
