I don’t have a particular place to send you today. I simply invite you to view the beauty and color of the Mojave Desert. People often thing barren stretches of tan or oxide colored sand and rocks when they think desert. This time of year the High Desert is in bloom, and the sandy backdrop seems to make the jewels of color even more precious.
I’ve included photos from a variety of travelers who have uploaded their images of the Mojave Desert to flicker under the creative commons license. (Click on the image to go visit their photostreams).
I couldn’t leave you without an image of the lovely California Poppy.
Please remember if you visit to leave nothing but your footprints behind. Thanks for stopping in,
Peace, out!

It’s wonderful how all of those pictures by different photographers fit together so well.
I had never thought much about how beautiful the desert can be until I visited one right after a rain. Everything was in bloom! I love those pictures, girlfriend.
Top picture – I’ve been at this location. It was 15 years ago but I remember it like yesterday.

I also have lived 9 years in the Mojave desert; we’re about 5 miles from the Mojave Indian Reservation – came to love the desert back in 1993.
One son of mine lives in Palm Desert next to Palm Springs – another gorgeous place.
I love all of the desert; we’ve traveled all that we can through it – it’s such an enormous place, can’t see everything, but we try……
I also love the Grand Canyon area – all the mountains; visited every range in the lower 48 – spectacular.
Enjoyed my visit here. Diane
