13 Ways to Celebrate Earth Month
Earth day is April 22, and Earth month is all month long for April! What will you be doing to celebrate the earth? How do you help the environment? Here are a few ways you can participate this month.
1) According to the EPA, National Cell Phone Recycling week is April 6th through the 11th! Go here to find out how to get rid of your old phones responsibly!
2) Go here to see a list of Earth Month Events planned in your area!
3) Plan and register your own Earth Day or Earth Month Green Generation Event!
4) Check out how clean and green your home energy/electricity is at the EPA’s Power Profiler
5) Sign up for the Go Green Monthly Newsletter and receive helpful home tips in your email!
6) Add your Greenness to Think Green Thursday for great environmental info, photos and discussion each week.
7) Visit Got Green NY for the awesome betmo’s Green news for Upstate New York, her home State, or…
8) …think about starting your own green news blog for your state!
9) Visit Adam and Derek at Twilight Earth for eco info and some of the most stunning photography and eloquent essays that I’ve seen.
10) Learn how you can easily reduce the impact of your everyday activities.
11) Make and contribute your own Earth Day Photos and Videos!
12) Spread the word!! Tweet, stumble or digg environmental posts. One every day for the month of April.
13) Write your own Earth Month post! Come back and let me know and I promise to visit and link to it from Thorne’s World
That’s my TT!

Thank you for sharing all of this good information!
Great idea for a list. My 13 is posted. Have a terrific Thursday.
I especially think #8 is awesome.
Great TT list – I’m up at Coffee Break with 13 places to find a mug for the Coffee Mug Hunt
All things eco are fine by me.
Great list. I’ll come back later to follow a few of those links. Happy T13!
Great list. I think I’m going to work on my garden and take my recycling in.:)
I’ll let you know when I post mine. I love the phrase “blog on smog.” (It’s also poetry month). We’re having an Earth Day expo in our small town and an art opening on the theme, using recycled materials etc.
Thanks for the wonderful plug Thorne! Your first post on Trash Thursday is fantastic. Looking forward to more!

P.S. I’m looking for more environmental bloggers. Don’t be shy.
Hey…maybe you know…how do I get rid of old pills?
Janet – I’m glad you asked. See one of my old posts: http://www.blogonsmog.com/environmental-friendly/2008/7/23/disposal-of-prescription-drugs.html
Thorne – “a** is out in the breeze”. Sounds like a future post at Thornes World! Perhaps we might see a tattoo?
Steve

Hahaha!!!! Steve! Although my back is in the process of being fully inked, there is not a spec of color on my pristine white ass! (and even if there were, that is one tattoo I would not be showing off here! (Ya’ll would have to come on a trip to the hot springs with me to see that! *wink)
thanks for the great info! i think this year for earth day i am finally going to learn how to make a compost.
Ah Thorne come on!!! I’m willing to bet there is at least one little butterfly or rose on that pristine white a**. Are you telling me I have to fly all the way from Ottawa to some hot springs to find that out :)
Steve
Great list. Love the theme, love all the ideas and links!
I had no idea about Earth dy or Earth month. I did participate in that Earth Hour thing at the end of March, though I don’t know what good it did in the long run.
Lots of useful info in this TT. Thank you.
Great list! Thanks for sharing. I try to green-conscious where possible and this list will definitely help, especially during Earth month!
Hi Thorne,
Excellent job compiling resources and offering ideas for celebrating our Home. I’m on the board of our state’s Earth Day, and I think the best thing that can happen is expanding it to Earth Month and zooming in as a planet on Earth Hour. Even if it wakes up just a few more people, it’s a step in the right direction. Or is it the left direction ;-)
Thanks so much to everyone for coming by!! I hope you won’t mind seeing a bit more about my love of our “mama earth” and some of my projects around Pair-O-Dykes Ranch!
Steve, I will NEVER tattoo my ass! LOL. Some time I will post pics of my full back piece in process, though.
Samantha, Thanks for visiting and for the good work you are doing for our home! Remeber: Left is right! hehehe
