Lanner Falcon Mantling-detail
Damn!! He he. I got caught up redoing categories and tags last night and then sleep pounced me suddenly and irresistibly around 2am.
I’m working on this tat again today. The first image (above) is a little head detail. This tattoo is in what I call my “reasonably realistic” style. I know that there are many excellent tattoo artists that do photo realism, but I am not one of them. I have developed this style because I believe it stays looking good over the years much better than true photo realism.

Here is the entire greyline of the tattoo. I use a greyline rather than a hard black outline for this style so I can build to black where needed and leave some areas lighter instead of having a hard, cartoon type outline.
This client has chosen a bit of a touchy area, high on the fleshy outer thigh, for not only her first tattoo, but a rather large piece as well. She’s a pretty tough cookie, especially considering that she has FMS and RA.
I’ll post more images after her second session, today. Have a great weekend, everyone!
Peace, Out!

been promising myself one since my 50th
Thanks, Diane. I love the way her wings are kind of fluffed out and she’s hunkered to protect her kill. So come visit me in Cali., and we’ll design you the perfect tattoo! Haha!
That’s going to be a beautiful piece. I like how you used gray, hadn’t considered that before. But then, I’m not the artist. :)
Thanks, and thanks for stopping by, Wayne.
You do great work. I don’t have any but my wife has a couple of tattoos on her shoulders.
