I want to say that underneath it all you are my friend
And the way that I fell for you I’ll never fall that way again
I still believe despite our differences that what we have’s enough
I believe in you and I believe in love
And the way that I fell for you I’ll never fall that way again
I still believe despite our differences that what we have’s enough
I believe in you and I believe in love
Today’s post, and the daily posts as I’m able to write them for the next while, will be in recognition and gratitude of the individual members of this awesome example of compassionate humanity that I have come to term my “Blogging Community”. We are a diverse bunch that have only a couple of things in common at the core; that we care about our world and the people in it, and that we simply must write. You who have reached out to me with such love and honesty, humore and compassion, irreverence and support make up this community. You may not all know each other for we are a far ranging and diverse community hailing from all walks and parts of the globe. If you haven’t been over to check out my featured blogger in this personal gratitude series, please take a moment to go by and check them out. You may well find another wonderful person to add to your blogging family.
The song for today is from the Indigo Girls CD entitled Despite our Differences (scroll down for full lyrics), and the song is I Believe in Love.

Betmo at Life’s Journey. Betmo has been one of the bloggers who has shown me friendship and support since I began this blogging journey in April of this year (Wow, was it really such a short time ago? It feels like years).
Betmo is a fierce champion of the environment, watchdog of the “rethuglican” terror; an outspoken and “truthy” atheist american. She is a queen of DIY home improvement and gardener. She is indeed a scholar and a poet, but above all she is a warm and caring human blogger.
Betmo once honored me in her “Truthy American’s” corner, placing me in the august company Rosie O’Donnel, Bill Mahrer, Sean Penn and Barbara Streisand, among others. (I don’t remeber the rant that inspired this honor, but it must have been a good one!!) She has faithfully and regularly commented on even my foolish posts, and always has a supportive word when I’ve been depressed or in crisis. She has helped me with technical issues and referred me to others when she was unable to solve my problem. When I have posted devastatingly personal issues in my blog, she has taken the time to send me caring and supportive personal emails, even just notes to check up on me when I have been silent overlong, and has been known to deliver me a swift kick in the ass when I needed it. Betmo reccomended me as a contributor to both the Peace Train and Siren’s Chronicles, (where she contributes, also) two worthy sites that I wrote for briefly before becoming overwhelmed with committment and life. We both participated in the Blog Against Thoecracy, issues 1 and 2, You can also find betmo at poets for peace, scrap paper, and the peace tree
Thank you for all that you are, betmo, my friend!!!
Title: I Believe in Love
Artist: Indigo Girls
Album: Despite our Differences
When we tried to rework all of thisEach to her renditionPainted ourselves in a cornerLost for ideas blindly fishingFor a compliment or kindnessJust to bring us into viewBut you could not interpret me and I could not interpret you I remember that cold morning when the trees were black with birdsI tried to make out some connectionWe were at a loss for wordsAfter all that we've been throughI could not see giving upDespite the picture of our coffee growing colder in the cupsI want to say that underneath it all you are my friendAnd the way that I fell for you I'll never fall that way againI still believe despite our differences that what we have's enoughAnd I believe in you and I believe in love So we went rolling on down through the yearsTaking time off we could stealUntil the thief of things unreconciledStuck it's stick into the wheelNow we're tumbling in a freefallNo one's gonna go unscathedBut it's not because you held back and its not how I behaved I want to say that underneath it all you are my friendAnd the way that I fell for you I'll never fall that way againI still believe despite our differences that what we have's enoughI believe in you and I believe in love There are avenues and supplements and books stacked on the shelfLabyrinths of recovery in search of our best selfBut most of what will happen now is way out of our handsSo just let it go and see where it lands I want to say that underneath it all you are my friendAnd the way that I fell for you I'll never fall that way againI still believe despite our differences that what we have's enoughI believe in you and I believe in loveI believe in you and I believe in love
